What an outstanding day at MGS! "THE MAN IN THE BLACK CHUCKS" was such an amazing speaker. Getting students to empower each other, building positive self talk, and supporting each other as we build a positive school culture. The 5-8 students gave him a standing ovation at the end. I also loved to see classes paired up with their buddies and connecting with older and younger students! Great way to end our week!

Thanks so much to the marching band and color guard for performing for our softball team. You looked and sounded awesome! Good Luck at STATE! Go Birds! 🥎❤️🏆

"The Man in the Black Chucks" along with the cheer and dance team greeted students coming to school today. We are looking forward to hearing him speak today!

MGS held a Walk of CHAMPIONS for the Softball team as we send them off to STATE tomorrow. Reminder the girls will play at 4:00PM on Friday at Champion Fields in Normal. Good Luck!!!

Reminder that Friday, September 27th is an early dismissal. K-2 students will be dismissed at 11:20AM and 3-8 students will be dismissed at 11:25AM.

7B rocked Thursday's spirit day!

Congratulations to the Cross Country team. They participated in the Pekin Invitational last night. Varsity Girls are Conference Champions! Varsity Boys took 4th place , Girls open took 1st place, and Boys open took 2nd place! Individual medalist for girls varsity were Gianna Domenighini- 4th place, Saige potter- 7th, Mikaela Gerkin- 9th, Liv Moehling- 11, Olivia Symmonds-12th, Olivia Russel- 19th place. Boys Varsity medals went to Landry Hodel-5th place, Cameron Reau- 15th, Corbin Colantoni- 20th place. In boys open Nolan Hayes took 24th place. Congratuations to all the runners on a great race!

6th Grade Literature students used the VR headsets with Mrs. Stamm to expand their learning of Japan after reading an excerpt from The Invisible Thread.

Metamora Township High School boys and girls basketball coaches and players will be hosting a camp for 4th-8th grade boys and girls Oct. 12 from 9:00 to 11:00am in Toepke Gym at the high school. All campers will all receive a t-shirt that will grant them free admission all week to the Tournament of Champions at Washington Community High School, one of the biggest and best high school basketball tournaments in the country (and where the MTHS boys will play their first 4 games).

The Softball team will be playing Friday 4:00PM at Champion Fields in Normal. If you would like to purchase tickets, you can click on the link https://gofan.co/event/1581130?schoolId=IL86333 or scan the QR code. Tickets can not be purchased at the fields that day.

THANK YOU MGS PTO for organizing another awesome staff luncheon! THANK YOU to MGS Administrators for grilling up some tasty burgers and pork chops....it was a hot one out there today! THANK YOU to all those that donated to help provide lunch for the staff! Everything was wonderful! We appreciated it!

It was a beautiful day to be out marching and performing for some of our biggest fans today! The band and guard are doing an amazing job this year! With record breaking numbers we are marching 125 members strong!

Congratulations to our XC team as they competed at Germantown Hills against 20 other teams. Girls Varsity & Girls Open took 1st place, Boys Varsity took 8th place and Boys Open took 9th place. For individual medals, Gianna Domenighini took 4th place for Varsity, Sloane Buerkett took 1st in the girls open, Madison Sterr placed 3rd and Quincy Boone placed 4th. Great job to everyone!
